Aluminum Mullion Systems

2300 Building
As one of our specialties, mullion engineering allows this magnificent glasswork to be aesthetically attached to the main structure.  Our wide range of façade engineering has become in high demand due to stricter building codes and more creative architecture.

Specialty Designs
   

Garden Grove Intersection Improvement
This four-sided steel truss structure spans 290 feet across a Garden Grove intersection, then continues an additional 70 feet to a unique sail structure.  Foundations to resist liquid faction presented creative solutions for which our ability to work with other consultants proved to be our strength.  (Bridge is currently in design phase, soon to be in construction.)

LAX Towers
One of L.A.’s new signature landmarks, these glass towers ranging from 30’ tall to over 110’ consist of steel braced frames and caisson group foundation systems. The 3-D braced frame design includes a vortex shedding analysis, cutting edge bracing design based upon the City of L.A. guidelines.  The glass panel and attachments incorporate allowances for the deflection of the steel structure in all directions.

Laguna Lido
This bridge had extensive corrosion damage from the salt air exposure.  The structure was retrofitted in place while allowing pedestrian traffic throughout the construction.

   
   

Saks 5th Avenue
A unique railing in Las Vegas, which we were retained to retrofit after installation.  SWSE determined that due to the mass, resonance occurred with pedestrian lateral loading and reduction of it’s natural period was required.
