Scott Wallace
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering
from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo,
and has specialized in the structural design of diverse
commercial and residential projects for close to twenty years.
Scott founded Scott Wallace Structural Engineers in 1992, and
with his staff he provides services throughout California and
Nevada.
As lead engineer, project manager, or a design team member,
Scott has been
closely involved with a number of significant buildings,
including: Garden Grove Intersection Rehabilitation Project, San
Diego Business Park, Carmel Valley Employment Center, Pacifica
Office Building, Little Company of Mary Hospital, Westlake Plaza
Center II, Bel Air Chalet Condominiums, Builders Emporium,
Laguna Lido Bridge, Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, San Francisco International
Airport, Bellagio Hotel, University of California at
Irvine Music Building, the Guggenheim Museum in the Venetian Las
Vegas, Santana Row in San Jose, and BART Station expansion &
improvements.
In 2002, Scott received recognition for his work on the
renowned light towers at Los Angeles International Airport,
consisting of 30 towering, illuminated glass columns, which form
the new gateway to LAX.
Scott is a Registered Structural
Engineer in the State of California, Registered Civil Engineer
in both California and Nevada, and is licensed by the Federal
Emergency Management Agency. He is a member of the Structural
Engineers Association of Southern California, American Society
of Civil Engineers, Concrete Masonry Association of California
and Nevada, Metal Stud Association, American Plywood
Association, and California Glass Association.
Scott is a perfectionist in his work, but, at the same time, his
sense of humor and down-to-earth style create an atmosphere of
collegiality with his clients, which has resulted in his
reputation as the structural engineer of choice.

Ian Black holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural
Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
Ian has several years experience with a variety of project types
including: large custom, metal stud façade systems, shoring wall
systems, analysis and reinforcing design of glass mullion systems,
tilt-up construction, and miscellaneous wood, steel, concrete and
masonry structures. Ian is a member of the Structural Engineers
Association of Southern California.
Some of the projects for which Ian has served as lead engineer,
project manager, or was closely involved with include: Cinerama
Dome, Cerritos Millennium Library, Orange County Transportation
Center, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Hyatt Regency Resort
(Huntington Beach), Garden Grove Intersection Rehabilitation
Project, Theo Lacy Jail remodel, Valencia Town Center remodel,
California Western School of Law, Aaron Brothers Art & Framing (Dana
Point), and Corona VW.
Ian’s musical background and interest in studying & researching
building acoustics inspired his college Senior Project, which
consisted of the structural and acoustical design of a 2800 seat
concert hall.
